Welcome to Sleepy Silk, a boutique online store with a beautiful range of pure silk pieces to give everyone in your family better skin, hair and sleep. Sleeping on silk tackles problems such as baby bald spots, hot flushes, eczema, split ends and sleep creases but to name a few, and Sleepy Silk products have been designed to address these issues and more.
Melbourne based and family owned, Sleepy Silk was conceived by myself and my husband Jason. After having studied and worked in the accounting and finance industry, we left the corporate world to start our furniture and homewares store, The Design Edit. With our busy schedules and adventurous lifestyles, we definitely know the importance of getting a good night’s rest. Sleeping on silk has long been known for its incredible properties, with dermatologists and hairdressers boasting about the benefits for years. After having experienced the wonders of sleeping on silk ourselves, we set out to create a range of products that would allow all members of the family to enjoy this luxury, from newborn bub all the way through to granny!
All Sleepy Silk products have been designed by us in Melbourne, Australia and are made from pure 100% Mulberry silk, at the highest grade of 6A, and woven in a charmeuse weave. Many other brands offer a density and weight of 19 – 22 momme, but all of our silk products are made from 25 momme silk for ultimate luxury and durability. Good quality sleep is the best health and beauty product of all – and when you spend nearly a third of your life in bed, why wouldn’t you use the best products available?
Sleepy Silk products have been tested and certified under OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 to be non-toxic and free from harmful dyes and chemicals. Our products meet the most stringent requirements of Product Class 1, certified to be suitable for babies and toddlers and making them pure and gentle enough to be safe for even the most sensitive skin.
With their naturally hydrating, thermal regulating, moisture wicking and hypoallergenic properties (but to name a few), our silk products have become essential for our bedtime routine, and we know they will become a staple in yours too!
